On Friday, December 18th, people are encouraged to wear their ugly Christmas sweater of their choice with a $5 donation, with the “Ugly Christmas Sweater Day” serving as a community fundraising campaign to support Footy Promotions Youth Programs.
“Ugly Christmas Sweater Day is a day of light hearted fun and a day to be yourself. Most importantly, Ugly Christmas- Sweater Day is a day to make the holidays fun…the way they were intended to be,” a spokesperson said.
“All funds raised go directly to Footy Promotions as we prepare to celebrate our 5th year anniversary. The funds raised will assist with covering the expenses that are incurred during the year including, but not limited to, equipment, facility rental, life skills sessions, and exercise books.
“In support of this campaign, Robin Hood Pub & Restaurant will also be serving a specialty drink on December 18th to encourage participants of the Ugly Sweater Day to gather after work. The name of the drink will be titled “The Grinch”
“Businesses may participate as a group. In addition, there will also be donation drop spots at 27th Century Boutique and Sidekicks or email footypromotions@gmail.com
